AAIDO Ongoing Projects

AAIDO ongoing projects

  • Support to the development of Afghanistan Almond Industry Development Organization (AAIDO), this project is funded by European Union (EU) on February 2016 for three years. The project is working on value chain of almond and other nuts in Central and Northern provinces of Afghanistan. Under this program producers, traders, processers and exporters of this sector will be benefited.

 

  • Good Agriculture Practice on Almond (Almond GAP), this project is funded by United Nations’International Labor Organization (UN-ILO) for ten months starting from January 2017, the project focuses on quality production of almond by applying GAP and contract farming, under this project 200 producers of Samangan province and exporters will be benefited.

 

  • Grapevine Trellising and Production Management, the project is funded by USAID/RADP-North for seven months starting from February 2017, the project will be implemented in Samangan, Baghlan and Kunduz provinces, the main objectives of this action is to train 2200 producers on new method of trellising, bring revolution to vine production system changing bushy vineyards to trellising technology production, to decrease the incidents of pest and disease and improve quality/quantity of grape production.

 

  • Improved Orchard Management for Stone Fruits and Nuts, this project is funded by USAID/RADP-North for five months starting from January 15 2017, under this project 1248 producers in Baghlan, Kunduz and Badakhshan provinces will be benefited. The main objectives of this project is to train 1248 farmers on GAP, increase productivity and quality of stone fruits and nuts, knowledge transfer through mentorship of farmers-to-farmers , decrease the incidents of pest and disease, and to attract buyers of dried fruits to purchase the products of targeted beneficiaries.
